It is precisely this attitude, combined with the knowledge that the Soviet Union had to fend off the fascist invasion, that the Soviet people were forced into this war and suffered casualties in the magnitude of 25,000,000 human lives, that keeps me coming here again and again, to bow my head together with this old bronze soldier.
