We ran out of oxygen then, but little did we know what we'd do later! Hoffmann now would likely be not only an easy climb, but a nuisance with the streams of pilgrims. Perhaps when we are old we'll do it again, but then reach the summit. Yet that trip was the seed of our annual visit to the Sierra, and I remember it fondly.
