By morning, the wind had become still, SCE had restored power, and it looked like a beautiful day. It looked like a good opportunity to try the ascent we had postponed yesterday.
This climb was to be an elaboration of the legendary 2006 Red Peak climb of David and Bill that we'd heard recounted so many times, though without details of the exact issues that made it legendary.
We were getting a late start to begin with, and we weren't feeling very fresh either, so it was doubtful we'd actually reach the ultimate goal of Pyramid Peak, but our prime objective was attaining the Crest at all. -F
