And thus our journey ends. Next day we return home.


And perhaps it was the last time we come to Mammoth in September, because California burning has made it increasingly precarious. Last year the trip went up in smoke, this year it wasn't clear until the last minute.


Right now our tentative plans are to go in the early Summer next year, once the snow has melted enough and the passes are open. It will be a different adventure, and a different training routine, too. And different photos. And I'm looking forward to it! -F.
