Echo Ridge



We have a bit of a delay as the area we were planning to park had road work happening on it, and the roadside parking had been removed. We waited in line for some time for the pilot car to lead us all through the construction site, past the no longer existing parking spot, and a good way beyond where we wanted to start. So we repeated the procedure in the opposite direction and finally found parking at the Visitor Center, adding a kilometer or two to the planned route. We were off to a late start.


Bill set off at a blistering pace, still hoping to do the whole route, and I made the mistake of trying to keep up. From bike racing I should have known better than to try to hold his pace! I was out of breath having wasted the energy by the time we found the use trail turnoff toward Cathedral. -F.
