Mammoth Trip, 2022

September 30

Tenaya Canyon

I quickly realized that I had left my camera retainer belt at the condo, a wide neoprene belt with a hole for the lens that keeps the camera snugly against my belly and keeps it from swinging around wildly and smashing into rocks and things when I'm using my hands for climbing. I keep a chain of small, light carabiners on my backpack for whenever I need them, and found I could clip the camera to a long enough chain that I could raise the viewfinder to my eye and still keep the camera under control, and I could easily and quickly clip it tighter when I needed it very close.
