We climbed for a little while over rocky steps and roots, and my foot didn't like it. It was not hard to convince me to turn around now.

In particular, my tendon did not like the hike down the klinkers at all! I realised I wouldn't be able to accomplish much during this Mammoth trip. The going was slow and tedious. -F.


I turned often to check that Frank was managing OK. He was having a tough time with his injured foot. Usually, he's faster than I am. -S.
