Lunch. I have my surprise.

This slab should have presented no problem whatsoever. It isn't even steep! But I'm shocked to get no traction on it whatsoever. It's like walking on ice. Visually my hiking boots still had knobby tread everywhere, but it was no longer very deep, and it was hard and got no purchase on the granite.

So here we turn around. There are more slabs to come, and I can't walk on them, and I'm scared to walk on rock at all!

But this goes a long a way toward explaining my feelings of insecurity on my feet lately, and maybe my fall on Pleasanton Ridge that messed up my foot.

Now I'm spooked, and just want to get back down safely. -F.
