Iris Slab



The Iris Slab. We found the Iris Campground closed, so we hopped the barrier and found a deep, fast moving stream to cross but didn't see a way across. We split up, and eventually, Stella found a downed tree she was able to cross, watched by a trio with fishing rods who were also looking for a way across. We each made two trips to get all our gear across.

Even then, it seemed to take forever to climb up to the base, as the way wasn't clear and we scrambled and bush-whacked our way up. Besides our backpacks, Stella was carrying the rope, and I had a big canvas shopping bag with the rest of our equipment. So the going was awkward. -F.
