We descended in a round-about way again. I headed for what I thought was base camp, but found myself on a ledge. The ledge with the anchor bolts! There is a pair in the middle of this photo.


We were increasingly puzzled and frustrated because we never found the anchor bolts, no matter how high we climbed. We gave up and turned around, and a long way down we came to the top of another ledge where we found the bolts. By now it was late and we were so annoyed with ourselves that we couldn't do anything but laugh. -S.
