We're done with the rappel. Now it's a class 2-3-4 scramble to the bottom. Gerry and Jo have tied a series of overhands-on-a-bight knots on a guide rope, and we each fashion a large loop in our Personal Anchor Systems (PAS) - the chain in my hand - which can easily pass over these knots but would catch in a fall. -F.
