South Kaibab Trail October 21, 2008 |
The trail consisted mostly of dust held together every three feet or so by logs or boards crossing the path like railway ties. I suppose this used to be a series of steps, except by now a lot of the dust had blown away, so one has to step over each tie individually. This made downward progress both somewhat slow, and meant either stopping, or taking in the surroundings in short glances. | ||
