Crystal Crag Exploration
Having finally accomplished Lookout Peak the year before, we needed a challenge to replace it; something fairly nearby that we could explore on our first day at altitude, and hope to eventually achieve.
All I knew about Crystal Crag, really, was from looking down on this forbidding fortress from up on Mammoth Crest, and Bill's tales of inexperienced would-be climbers getting in over their heads and needing helicopter rescues. I rather hoped that wouldn't be us. -F
In any case, we all agreed that we had no ambitions to actually acheive a summit today.
