Valentine Lake
When we got up this morning, the expectation was to do the moderate climb up to Sherwin Crest, as Bill had suggested the night before.
But I was more than a little apprehensive looking at the weather report, which forecast extreme, cold winds coming in. Not a fun time to be on an exposed ridge! I mentioned this to Bill over breakfast oatmeal, and he was quick to find a good altenative.
The hike to Valentine Lake would mostly be protected by forest, all on trail, and likely we wouldn't see a single person all day. That sounded rather nice. -F.
