Clark Canyon Rock Climb

Jo belays. She did a lot of work belaying us all day, which is quite strenuous by itself. She uses an ascender in her left hand to pull rope. This is an aid climbing device to pull yourself up a rope, but she uses it belaying to avoid repetative motion injury.

She uses belay glasses to watch Bill above her. These are prisms that sit on your nose or over regular glasses that allow you to look straight up without craning your neck. Without them, our necks would be toast very quickly. -F.
