The Chute to Mammoth Crest

Each team had seen a rockslide chute last year, that might have been a passable way up to the crest. As it turns out, each team had been looking at a different chute.


This is the chute we'd attempt today. The idea was to climb to Mammoth Crest, and take an alternate route back to the parking lot, as though we were coming back from Duck Pass.


We'd only get as far as the step that cuts off the bottom of the view of the glacier in the photo. Stella and Bill would climb above the step on its left side, Frank on the right, and then cross to where Stella and Bill were waiting.
