Conness East Ridge
View from the saddle. Bill descends a little way down a steep, sandy slope to try to judge whether we'd make it down, and then back up. This would be the easy route somewhere through that bowl, along the base of the East Ridge, and then climb out the other side onto the summit plateau. At this point we don't yet know whether there is an escape route downward, or whether it cliffs out. (There is such a route).
