Attempt on Volcanic Ridge

After a nice, quiet day of rest, we were ready for our epic. We sketched out a route on RwGPS, following descriptions left by predecessors. Again, we'd need to read the landscape on site for actual route finding, but the GPS map gave us orientation. The plan was to set out from Agnew Meadows towards Lake Ediza, but veer off cross country past Cabin Lake to climb to a summit on Volcanic Ridge. There we would either attempt to contact Mammoth Taxi for a pickup at Devil's Postpile, or descend to Lake Ediza and return the way we came. -F.
